HOME RULE COMMISSION

As I began to speak to people about Douglas County quickly trying to move to Home Rule, there were more questions than answers;

 

“What is this?”  “Why so fast?” “Who really benefits from Home Rule?”  “Is this just an attempt to end term limits?” “Why all the secrecy?”  “How come there has been no public notice about this?”  “Do we really need this?”

As I have done my research on Home Rule and working in County, State, and City Government, all of these questions and so many more are legitimate.

I want to make sure that everyone has a voice in this issue and the people of Douglas County are represented and make an informed decision as to the value of this critical decision that impacts every Douglas County Resident, and the result is done in a transparent manner.

Please make sure to look for your ballot in the mail coming on JUNE 3rd and vote by June 24th to make your voice heard.
